fashion tip

gentlemen, evidently we can never say this enough.

FLAT FRONT PANTS, please.

pleated pants don't make anyone look sharp.

So straight legged cuffed pants are still hott, though right?

definitely.

[nod]

however, save the tapered pants and wear them with your pink shirt and white zippy sweatershirt.

too late. i already own at least three pairs of pleated pants that were bought, alas, after other people told me i should have gotten flat front. oops. if it's any consolation, i also own some flat front pants, and one of the pleated ones is part of a suit, and the jacket would cover up the pleats.

jljtn.

nope. not good enough. the pleated suit pants still need to be flat front. because of the following reasons:

1) even people who wear suits to work every day usually take their jackets off for most of the day if they're not in meetings

2) people who wear suits every day typically unbutton their jackets when they're sitting and wearing their jackets.

3) this isn't so much about the suit pants, but they make you look bunchy and poochy in the, erm, crotchal region. which is not the look you're going for. if it is, then, well, there's medication for people like that.

4) the next time your mom buys your ties (strangely enough, not a slam, but a continuation of a conversation from before p-man was off the market. i don't really remember when that was, but there was talk of dingos) tell her that the pants also have to be flat front.

you're gonna be a big fancy lawyerman, you can buy 3 pairs of pants to replace the pleated ones. or 2 pairs of pants and one new suit.

agreed, it has previously been noted in my blog as well, though i do own some suit pants that are pleated...very hard to find non-pleated suit pants--give us guys a break on that one. it must be said, though, that there are pleats and then there are pleats. my burberry suit has A pleat, it looks okay, well, until my ass got too big for the suit...

particleman Wednesday, October 19, 2005 11:07:00 am

objection, badgering the witness.

1) the dark suit has pleats, the beige suit, which i did not mention, does not. the dark suit is only used for interviews with lawyers who, consequently, also wear pleats.

2) i see nothing wrong with making the crotchal region look bigger. i mean, baseball players get away with it, why can't we? they get away with scratching and rearranging too...

3) how bout this - when i actually do become a big fancy lawyerman instead of broke-ass law student, i'll buy some new pants ;)

4) my mom doesn't buy me ties anymore. i put a stop to that.

heh. cherz said levi-boner.

ivar, don't be shy, you're beautiful. you rock the mutton chops like no one else.

fritz has a point. it's hard to find the flat-front suits. i think they're all designed by lawyers.

pman, i don't have a problem with the beige suit. yay for it, actually!

fritzie and pman, i think you're in the wrong fields. you should start fritzie-pman fashion house and exclusively put out flat front pant suits that have, er, expanding ass sections so that when you drop a load of $ at burberry on a suit you can wear it forever.

pman, you can do the tax law of the business. fritzie, you can do design and the gftei section.

and honey, the problem isn't with the size of the crotchal region, it's the width of the poochiness. from hipbone to hipbone don't fool nobody.

and on that farm he had a mooCow, oejeos!

i haven't bought a pair of pleated pants in 3 years, so who's the king of fashion now? oh yeah, me!!

heatherfeather Saturday, October 22, 2005 6:14:00 am

so, does one kneel before the flat-front king? or is a dockers-esque "nice pants" going to cut it?

qqsesuzl live the king!
