my first kiss was with chris zahnheiser when we enacted the first kiss from romeo and juliet in 9th grade. which also reminds of my 16th birthday when my dad looked at me over the dinner table and said, "sweet 16 and never been kissed, right?" this walk down memory lane inspired by mr. k.
(act 1, scene 5)
ROMEO [To JULIET]
If I profane with my unworthiest hand
This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this:
My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand
To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.
Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,
Which mannerly devotion shows in this;
For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.
ROMEO
Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?
Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.
O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do;
They pray -- grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.
Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake.
Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take.
Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged.
JULIET
Then have my lips the sin that they have took.
Sin from thy lips? O trespass sweetly urged!
Give me my sin again.
JULIET
You kiss by the book.

awwww, that is soooo cute.
I love when they do that scene in the Claire Danes version. I like the scene anyway, but I really dug it in that version.
By the way, this is mina. I got a blogger account because I'm on team knittyboard for the Knitting Olympics. hehe. Maybe I'll make a page.
One of my favorite lines: "Then shall we be news-crammed"
I also like to turn the title of Shakespeare plays into porn film titles:
- Romeo In Juliet
- As You Lick It
- A Midsummer Night's Cream
- Much Ado About Humping
Uhm, the way I phrased that, it makes it sound as if I think "Then shall we be news-crammed" comes from "Romeo and Juliet." It comes from "As You Like It," spoken by Rosalind.
