well, that happened...

so, last week didn't start off very well.

it was hot, i was hormonal and cranky, and i alluded to badness afoot. the badness? i was losing my job. leaving me, well, much like erik, about to embrace my unemployed mediocrity.

then, the next day, i got an email from a japanese gentleman named tom, offering me an internship in july. july started the day after this email. but the timing seemed a little too fortuitous for brushing off. it would be a 2 month, unpaid internship in nyc. where i hear they give away free housing if you don't mind sleeping under the 59th street bridge.

who was it with? a large, international organization. here's a hint. how well do you know your logos?

did you name it? if not, go to their homepage. or to the department i'll be working in.

anyhow, most of my ducks are in a row, and i'm off to new york next week until school starts.

anyone want to housesit for me so erniekins doesn't get lonely? he's my last duck. he's also my first dog. anyhow, no kids, cats, or other dogs allowed.

and i must end with: WOOHOO!!!

It sounds as though your week shaped up to be quite good.

You appear to express an aversion to pork-flavored ice cream. How would you feel about crab ice cream? Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck Restaurant in Bray, UK offers a scoop of it atop crab risotto with passion fruit jelly. If you want to feast your eyes,it is pictured at http://www.sautewednesday.com/.

i loathe crab... so i wouldn't feel great about it. nor would i likely order the crab risotto with passion fruit jelly (papaya and passion fruit aren't really on my yummy list either)...

all in all, i'm averse to THAT too!

corn ice cream, however, is REALLY good.

So, my love is oficially leaving Denver... I am holding back the tears here at my desk at work. At least I know that you will be back in September for the fall quarter! I am so excited for you - it is the perfect internship - and I am already planning a trip to DC and NY in August!

Oh, and I can offer 1 or 2 nights a week to Ernie, how does that sound?

Only people who hate America would work for this group. That is what Tom DeLay has told me to say. And I am too afraid to stand up to him. Tom DeLay is muy scary.

i didn't even see this post, because i have a lot going on right now, ok? btw, thanks a lot for taking all the glory and moving to an even cooler place than i am.

all the same, you are due some praise. but just a little bit of praise, because i've found i must monitor your ego levels at all times. like this: wow, great news! but not that great, really. medium-great.
