i love my life

Single side of an actual conversation

Pants:

If humans were to become extinct and meerkats were to rise and evolve and take the place of humans as the dominant life form on Earth, they’d have a really hard time creating space shuttles because everything they’d make would be SO TINY. I mean if dinosaurs weren’t extinct and had created space shuttles, they’d be heavy, but huge and have tons of thrust, but meerkat shuttles would be little and so easily blown off course.

Why are you laughing at me?

Why would i possibly be laughing at you? I've spent many a sleepless night wondering the same thing.

actually, the meerkats would have a better margin of error in ration to their side and it would use a hell of a lot less energy to get them up there.

huh?

having taken two semesters of rocketry and flight in middle school (the full extent of my engineering education) I would think that finding high yield explosive materials to propel a meerkat sized rocket into space would take alot of chemical expertise. More than we humans have yet to muster. But I am sure meerkats would develop some exotic antigravity device to propel themselves into space; thereby negating the need for rocket propulsion.

yes, my darling, and this is why i love my life. antigravity meerkat propulsion systems are something that other couples just don't talk about.

Seems like a perfectly valid theory to me!?

Excellent evaluation of the situation on Pants' part. The eal question is, what do meerkats eat and can it be freezedried the way they do ice cream for astronauts? And come to that, what would they be called? Astrokats? Astromeers? Meernauts? You could get a lot of mileage out of this...

LOL! The meerkats would certainly have succeeded!

I so thought of you when I saw the ad for Meerkat Nation the other night!
