something strange this way comes

i don't have any WIPs.

none, nada, zero, zilch.

i am going to start a pair of socks later today (i think elfine socks - link later, too tired now), but this feels weird.

no UFOs, no WIPs? none even at all?

I just started knitting this:

http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall04/PATTclapotis.html

for my mommy. I'm using better colors, though. I think the color she picked looks like butt.

That's Lion and Lamb yarn is freakin' soft! Yes, I'm using the suggested yarn, and yes, I'm spending 100 dollars on it. I don't care. My mommy should have the softest scarf in the world!

Have you ever made this pattern? I have gathered, from looking around on the net, that almost everybody has made at least one of these things. Freaky.

Hopefully I won't fark it up.

When a problem comes along, you must WIP it.

minabina - a $100 le clap? wow... i've never knitted a clappy - i am afeard i'd get so bored with all the stockinette... however the satisfaction of dropping stitches on purpose is alluring...

amischwab - Work In Progress, aka KIP, or if you're semaphoria and spell it gnitting, a GIP.

chris, shape it up, get straight.

Actually, the clap isn't really very boring. Maybe it's because I'm new or something, though. I was knitting Wavy from knitty.com and I had to stop because it looked neat, but it was boring as hell, but not mindless enough to zone out. blech. I doubt I'll ever finish that. There are 9 repeats, I think and I did 1 and a half. hehe.

Clapotis has all these yarn overs, times you have to place markers, and pfb and kfbs, so, you have to pay attention. The whole first part of knitting the thing (Sections 1 and 2) sets up the crazy dropped stitches.

I still haven't dropped anything yet, but it's all set up.

I can't freakin' wait.

Oh yeah, k tbls and ssks, too.

It's been good for me because I had to learn the stitches. woot!

my favorite sentence was "the clap isn't really very boring."

i'll take sentences i wish were heard out of context for $400, alex.
