hi everyone!

remember me? i'm mariah!

mariah

that was me a few months ago - look at me now!

mariah frog

[end creepy anthropomorphized sweater voice]

i haven't decided if i'm going to reknit this. i may just let this sit for a while because i'm a tad tired of the yarn still. i LOVED knitting it, it just came out nothing at all as i'd hoped. i couldn't have worn it as short as it is in the picture as it would make my body look weird (think of my legs coming straight out of my neck) but it was FAR FAR too big - i took in 4 inches off of either side, and it was STILL that big.

anyhow, there you go.

in other news, i got a purse for my knitting - i finally got that knitting tote they sell at michael's for $40. so far, so good.

tonight, i'm swatching for angelica and doing the requisite algebra (with cherz' handy "semaphoria's stich converter" - convert, you nut!), and probably going to work on the long-neglected DNA hat (it's only about 3 rows further in than in this picture from a month ago):
DNA hat corrected

why am i working on things for me for the first time in months? on row 169 of 186 of the mishawl, i ran out of yarn. i'm waiting for my knitpicks order to come in. let's say a little prayer that the dyelots aren't too dissimilar. then again, it IS the edging that would be different, so no harm no foul, really.

I love the sleeves on Mariah -- they are yummy!!!

Someday I will knit a sweater -- a big people sweater. I have already knit a little person sweater, but someday..... I really like Seamus (I think it's called), but not in orange.......

Oooh, I got my first pair of Addi Turbos as a Christmas gift from my sister. They rock!!

Oops, I was wrong -- It's samus

I still like it!

see, i really like samus too, but in orangeg! maybe i'll make another cabley sweater, or remake mariah with the durrow cable on the sleeves...

addi turbos rock - just not for knitting lace - it's sort of like using a fist instead of a needle...

was it the pattern that did that or the yarn that made it so big on you? take a break from the yarn and youll come up with something way better.

addis rulz!

are you crazy? that is a beautiful sweater! send it to me immediately or i will sic my dog on you.

wait. i just realized that the "me" you're referring to is the sweater. only took me like 5 hours...i am on top of things today, eh?
i have to take back my comment about sending me the sweater because if it talks, i don't want it. i don't like things (as in inantimate objects) that talk. remember that close encounters of the 3rd kind where the fruit started talking to that woman and she tried to eat a banana and all the other fruit started screaming "NOOOO! YOU'RE KILLING HARRY!!!" and then she sewed her mouth shut. and since i don't like needles, you can keep your sweater.

whew! close one crystal.

besides, it's almost completely in little yarn cakes now - it bears very little resemblence to the sweater it was on the top.

yahaira, i'm totally on a break with that yarn, anyway. i think it was partly the pattern (i didn't find the yahoo group until it was almost done, and everyone's of the school that the arms were winding up WAY too long.) and partly the fact that i'm a super super lazy gauge swatcher. SOOOOO lazy. i'll do like two inches over like 6 rows and call it close enough. luckily i did a proper swatch (blocking and all) on angelica.
